Bio: Maggie began piano lessons at 4 and voice lessons at 15. In college, she initially studied vocal performance with an emphasis in opera before returning to her piano roots, largely focused on classical repertoire, but also spending time with jazz. She is in high demand at Western Michigan University as a collaborator and vocal coach, and has performed with the University Wind Symphony and served as the accompanist for both Campus Choir and Cantus, the University Women’s Chorale. In April, 2018, she received the Graduate Teaching Effectiveness Award for work as a graduate piano instructor. In 2017, she served as a student accompanist for OperaMaya International Music Festival in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, and in 2018, she was hired as staff accompanist for Music in the Marche, an undergraduate opera program based in Mondavio, Italy.


Philosophy: I do not believe that any student “cannot” learn, and enfoy discovering what teaching methods and styles work best for each student. My teaching approach with every student is based on what the individual student needs, and if a certain approach isn’t working, I will adjust to the student to discover what will.
